My name is Lee Percy and I set up PoorlyPuppy.com after my wife Sarah was diagnosed with Cancer in 2005.
During Sarah's first of many days in Christies I found out that the ward wouldn't accept flowers so I searched high and low to find a suitable gift to send her. I eventually gave up and made up a hamper of several of her favourite things including a Cuddly Westy Dog (just like our own but without the noise) and cheery personalised mug.
It made her day when she opened the gift! Several of the nurses said I should set up a company to put smiles on other peoples faces. That was the birth of the idea for PoorlyPuppy.com. The name came from my two beautiful daughters Alana (7) and Estelle (4). We have a lovely small West highland terrier called Holly that has a limp due to falling off the bed when she was a puppy, Alana asked "why does Holly hop, is it because she is a poorly puppy, just like mum?"
PoorlyPuppy.com gives 20% of all net profits to Cancer Research UK as a way of thanking them for the ongoing hope they give Sarah during her ongoing battle with Cancer.
